I setup to try some astrophotography. My first problem was that the camera wouldn't focus anywhere in the whole range of the telescope's focus. I needed a small extension, but I didn't have one. What I did have was the 2x barlow lens. This means I'm taking pictures through an extra lens - one that isn't quite as high quality as the William Optics primary lens, and also hadn't been cleaned recently. But it also means I'm taking more zoomed-in pictures. I got the focus as good as I could through the camera view finder. Writing this years later, I also didn't realize what what the Bahtinov mask that came with my telescope was for - it would have helped me get a much sharper focus in these pictures.

I ended up getting a few blurry pictures of Sirius, some stars near the Pleiades, and Mars.
